Sidewalls are usually mounted longitudinally, to the top surface of the belt in pairs to form a ‘spillage free area’ especially when installed in conjunction with lateral flights (cleats). When material is loaded onto the belt it is effectively contained within a ‘pocket’ formed by the sidewalls and the lateral flights and is therefore prevented from falling back or escaping laterally, so eliminating spillage, but more importantly, as the sidewalls form part of the belt there is none of the wear normally associated with side skirts. This simple design ensures material remains within the belt’s effective carrying area. Differing conveying angles may be catered for by the use of larger sidewalls and flights (angled flights). All White and Blue materials are generally FDA approved. |
